About
The Small Business That Could was developed by Marna Friedman. An “information resource” for her clients and friends, Marna could no longer maintain the index card file of websites she kept referring back to. She realized that there was a need for a “website directory” of sorts that would help these businesses quickly access the information they needed. The only problem was, once they logged in, they usually lost the small slips of paper that they used to write down their user logon information, if they wrote it down at all. So one night in total frustration, Marna stayed on task and wrote “The Small Business That Could.” Each page contained a website URL, a brief description of the services/information it offered, and then on the bottom of the page, a space for the reader to write down their user ID and password (code). She then went back and organized the book into categories. The book was positively received by many small business owners. In fact, they asked her to continue the process and write more on other aspects of start-up and small business. So, soon the next two books were completed and presented as a “start-up” kit. These small “booklets” have now evolved into two paperbacks titled “The Small Business That Could for Women” http://www.amazon.com/Small-Business-That-Could-Women/and “The Small Business That Could”, and are available on http://www.amazon.com.
Marna has a background in business with a BS in Business and an MA in Media Studies. Her professional career includes experience in marketing, advertising, corporate event planning and retail management. She has owned her own successful consulting business in NY, as well as an event planning business in south Florida. She has also been a successful retail executive. The book also includes several website links to supplies and services for individuals wanting to produce their own events.
